Society
of Seven
Feeling
like you need some variety in your life?
Just place an S.O.S. call to the Flamingo and see how quickly
you’ll find yourself transported to a new place entertainment-wise
– maybe like Hawaii.
In this case S.O.S. stands for Society of Seven, an entertainment
troupe consisting of seven of Hawaii’s finest performers
who serve up a variety show of music, comedy and impersonations
afternoons at 3 p.m..
Though
vocally they specialize in blues and ballads, each of the
members is multi-talented, mostly all playing instruments
as well. The creative force of the group is Tony Ruvilar,
who also supplies vocals and guitars, while Bert Segum is
the troupe’s comedic leader.
Since
in front of every successful man is a great woman, sultry
singer Lani Misalucha adds a sexy vibe and her dynamic voice
to the previous all-male group.
Not
only can she sing everything from ballads to pop, rock, jazz
and even opera, but she offers on-the-mark imitations of the
voice and style of such divas as Celine, Barbra, Mariah, Whitney,
and Toni Braxton, who also performs at the hotel.
It’s an act that’s definitely making waves in
Las Vegas.
