BILLY RAY CYRUS
is happy to be home. The star and his entire family are in Tennessee for the summer, while Cyrus hosts 'Nashville Star' and films the highly-anticipated 'Hannah Montana' movie with daughter Miley. Cyrus says being back in the south is a welcome change of scenery.
"After two-and-a-half years [in L.A.], somewhere along the line I had become lost," Cyrus tells PEOPLE magazine. "This is who I am. That other guy out there is just Hollywood."
Cyrus also credits his home state as being therapeutic for his superstar daughter, especially after her recent publicity scandals.
"Miley realized who she was and where she came from," he says. "I know she's happy."
Miley should certainly be happy with her career right now. Her new album, 'Breakout,' is expected to debut on top of the album charts this week, with projected sales of more than 350 million copies.
Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus has released a music video as a promotional project of his newly-released single called "Somebody Said a Prayer". The song brings out a mellow sound which is combined with its lyrics, telling that at some points of their lives, people often fall down on their knees when going through a hard time.
The music video itself is filmed in Tarzana, California and directed by Roman White. It includes a cameo by Billy's son, Trace, who plays as a lead guitarist of the band Metro Station. Written by country powerhouses Neil Thrasher and Craig Wiseman, the song is confirmed to appear in Billy's upcoming eleventh studio album "Back to Tennessee". Furthermore, the record is slated for purchase sometime this year under the courtesy of Lyric Street Records.
Miley Cyrus' dad, which is how he's best known to these days, Billy Ray will be rocking out in Las Vegas this coming weekend, on Saturday Sept 20, at the Club inside the Cannery. And yes, he'll be singing that Achy Breaky song, he promises.
Miley Cyrus and her best pal Mandy Jiroux have something new on their latest YouTube video, an interview with the Disney star's sister, famous father and their dogs. Having them as guests, Miley starts off the show, saying "We are here right now to introduce one of the biggest, upcoming stars in the world. Everybody, let's introduce Miss Noah Cyrus."
She went on to joke about herself, telling Noah "It must be so hard growing up with a sister in the spotlight and everybody always getting on her case. And the sun never shines on the Cyrus family" before then asked her, "What keeps you grounded?" Also interviewing the family's dog, Miley and Mandy even had subtitled translations for their barks.
At the end of the so-called "The Miley and Mandy Show," the girls had Miley's singer father Billy Ray Cyrus performing an impromptu acoustic song from his latest album. They later presented Noah and Billy Ray with two gifts for participating as their special guests. "This looks identical to the one that Mario Lopez's mother gave to me," Billy Ray jokingly said.
The latest "Miley and Mandy Show" that features Noah and Billy Ray can be watched in the video HERE.
