David
London
Captain of the S.S. Romance |
Singer,
Songwriter, David London has had a love affair with music as
long as he can remember. And now, 80 years young, he has recorded
his debut CD entitled "Here’s To Romance", featuring
10 original love songs he has penned through the years. This
CD is the fulfilment of his dream interrupted 35 years ago when
he married comedienne Nancy Austin and began to manage her career.
London also wrote, directed and produced numerous shows in Las
Vegas including "Love Over Forty", a tremendous hit
that captivated audiences for more than 8 years until his late
wife’s untimely death in 1995.
London, a Las Vegas resident for 40 years, is passionate
when discussing his CD. "Looking at our hectic world
today, I see there’s a great need for Romance."
says the Master Voice Teacher and Vocal Coach. "I believe
that Romance is the magnet that brings people together and
the glue that holds them together." As he speaks you
feel his genuine love for Romantic songs. "The music
of love songs set the mood and the words touch us." London
passionately expresses these feelings as he sings his songs.

RELEASE PARTY AT CARLUCCIO'S
SE PTEMBER 20, 2007 - - HOSTED BY DAVID & ALMA
Photography by David Cherkis and Jan Dacri
When David began singing his romantic songs to Alma,
the new love of his life, she suggested that he record
them. "I argued that my voice had changed,"
recalls London with a smile. Alma replied, "Your
voice is even richer now with maturity and your passion
for Romance. We must record a CD!"
London took the project to his friend Vincent
Falcone, arranger, celebrated jazz pianist and conductor
for such musical superstars as Frank Sinatra. Hearing the
songs, Falcone excitedly agreed to participate. "Recording
my songs became a labor of love for everyone" says
London.
The
danceable songs range from Swing and Jazz to Romantic ballads.
"They were written for relaxing, dancing and romancing
by people who are or want to be in love," says London.
"Romance is something everyone needs to take time to
share!"
David London has appeared on
Broadway in eight musicals, including "The Most Happy
Fella", "110 In The Shade" and "Carousel".
He has shared the stage with such superstars as Liberace,
Phyllis Diller, Joan Rivers and Sammy Davis. He has also
been a vocal coach for many stars, including Eddie Fisher,
Pia Zadora and Marilyn Monroe. "I have never regretted
interrupting my singing career," says David, "
because I really enjoyed the success I’ve had teaching,
writing, directing and producing shows in Las Vegas these
many years. Now, I’m excited to sing and perform again!"
